Parking at a glance
Where to park
All public parking for Lowdermilk Beach is in the park's own lot, reached through the single signed entrance at 1301 Gulf Shore Blvd N. The entrance sits on the Gulf (water) side of Gulf Shore Boulevard North, roughly 1.6 miles from downtown Naples, and is controlled by entry and exit gate arms. From the lot, paved paths and the accessible boardwalk lead across the dune to the sand, with the main comfort station, showers and playground all within a couple of minutes' walk.
Visitor parking & how to pay
Non-residents pay an hourly metered rate per space. Payment is made at the solar-powered electronic meters beside the spaces or at the automated pay stations in the lot: enter your plate number, choose your time and follow the on-screen instructions. Keep an eye on your expiry time if you plan a long beach day. The City periodically adjusts rates and payment channels, so always read the posted instructions on the meter or pay station when you arrive.
Resident permits
City of Naples residents displaying a valid Collier County Resident Parking Permit park free of charge year-round. Permit rules, eligibility and how to obtain one are administered by the City and Collier County rather than by this site — check the official City parking pages before relying on permit-free parking, and remember that posted restrictions and any special-event rules still apply.
ADA & accessible parking
The lot includes 14 designated ADA van-accessible stalls close to the main pedestrian route. From there a paved accessible path runs to the comfort station, the drinking fountains and the beach boardwalk, which has a rubberized transition down toward the wet sand line. Display your state-issued placard or plate, and note that accessible spaces are metered on the same basis as other stalls unless a permit applies.
Busy times & how early to arrive
The busiest windows are weekends year-round, spring break (early March to mid-April), the winter high season from January to March, and public holidays, when the lot commonly fills before late morning. If parking matters to you, arrive before 9:00 AM or plan a late-afternoon visit, which also lines up with softer light and a cooler beach. Weekday mornings outside peak season are almost always straightforward.
Holidays, events & when the lot is full
Because the gated lot has finite capacity, the City sometimes holds or temporarily closes the entrance once it is full — most often on major holidays and peak-season weekends. If you arrive while entry is being held, do not queue or stop along Gulf Shore Boulevard North; either return later in the day or use one of the alternatives below. The gate arms also mean that leaving close to closing time can queue briefly.
Alternative parking & walking distance
When the park lot is full, options include signed on-street spaces along Gulf Shore Boulevard North (read every sign — restrictions change block by block), public parking in the downtown Third Street South / 5th Avenue South area about a 30-minute walk or short ride-share away, or another City beach access such as the Naples Pier area or Clam Pass Park to the north. Cyclists can use the bicycle racks inside the park, reached by the paved Coastal Trail corridor along the waterfront.
Confirm before you drive

Non-residents pay an hourly metered rate per space, set and periodically revised by the City of Naples. During major holidays and peak-season weekends the gated lot reaches capacity and attendants may temporarily hold the entrance until vehicles leave. Don't wait on Gulf Shore Boulevard North; try signed on-street parking nearby, downtown Naples public parking, or another City beach access, then return later in the day.
The lot operates within published park hours rather than around the clock. Plan to move your vehicle before the posted closing time; vehicles left outside posted hours follow normal City enforcement. If you need overnight parking, check with the City or your accommodation.
The park publishes standard stalls plus accessible stalls, with no dedicated oversized-vehicle area. RVs, trailers and oversized vehicles may not fit or be permitted; contact City of Naples Parks & Recreation before arriving with anything larger than a standard vehicle.
